Stream solute transport timescale can be directly estimated from observed in-stream conservative solute tracer time series, a.k.a. breath through curves (BTC) (a). However, such interpretation is complicated by differences in the underlying transport processes and by changes in transport timescales (b-d). (Schmadel et al. 2016)
